Interior Design Project: Mount Waverley Residence

MOUNT WAVERLEY, VICTORIA

The client’s brief was an elegant townhouse development in the Scotchmans Creek area in Mt Waverley. Wanting a smooth, professional build and bespoke interior design fit for his private residence, our client was particular and knowledgeable about the design and style he coveted.

These three double-storey townhouses involved the usual Consultants plus an Archeologist. Situated in Mt Waverley’s famous Scotchmans Creek precinct, the site contained significant indigenous artefacts. Not only did this brief include an efficient and effective build, it also included protection of these artefacts and ongoing liaison with the Archeologist. The Aboriginal Elders conducted a smoking ceremony after the build to return the artefacts to the land from which they came

One of these townhouses was to be occupied by the owner; hence a complete interior design fit-out was part of this project.

Working closely with the owner, Yelda Adal-Hall, Head of Design, created an interior to suit the client’s style and luxurious and refined living.

The scene was set for a modern and harmonious palette, using the best Nero Italian porcelain tiles courtesy of the House of Valentino throughout with beautiful Engineered Oak floorboards. The client wanted punctuations of pattern and texture and an understated expression of his style.

Using the same colour and pattern of porcelain tiles inside and outside (slip rated to exterior use), we created a seamless flow between the interior and exterior of the home.

Installing New York marble in the kitchen, Belle Homes complimented this stunning slab with dramatic purple veining with charcoal coloured cabinetry.

Floor to ceiling sheers concealed in a bulkhead slot created a soft and contemporary finish to the windows in the living space.

“Belle Homes have been a pleasure to work with. They always kept us informed about any issues and the project’s progress and have good communication and record-keeping skills.

They had a strong ability to incorporate interior design into construction planning and conceptualised various construction elements.

Yelda and Tim were also flexible with changes required throughout the project cycle.”
